Me and a friend had a debate some time ago, is the founder's edition the standard nvidia gpu or is the founder's edition a special version of it? I thought the FE was the special version since i heard people were mad once when they didn't release it.

And which 4080 Super is best one to get? I'm willing to overclock it myself and i'm willing to wait until i get the best one.

Thanks for any help.

At the moment, they are quite scarce.

Founder's Edition are more special now with 30 and 40 series cards. They have a somewhat unique layout and do not match reference designs.

Not all GPUs are released as Founder's Edition. Also back when they first had Founder's Editions it was an early release with a premium price. After backlash from their board partner's it is now the same price and released at the same time as the other models.

Aftermarket GPUs can still be 'better' though the way Nvidia locks down the power and voltage, unless you are into hardcore overclocking and BIOS mods, they will all perform roughly the same. Different noise and temperature is about it.

I'm not sure about 4080 Super specifically but,

Any time you ever have that feeling: 'Should I get it now or wait and get a better card?' Go ahead and wait. Otherwise there will be that little feeling for as long as you own the card... "Could I have waited and gotten more power?"
You can handle another couple months.

Ok seems like buying the regular is the best one to get, thank you.
