Im trying to decide between purchasing either a reference gtx 2gb 770 for 389 or a gigabyte windforce 2gb 770 for 330. I like the illuminated logo on the reference card. I also was wondering on if i should get the 4gb windforce instead of both for future proofing. I plan to upgrade to a new monitor in the future. It will either be an ultrawide 1080p or a 27 1440p. Which card would be the best for either of these. And i will sli in the long term future also. Thanks in advance

Well get the 4GB version which is more appropriate for higher resolutions, since you will be upgrading to higher resolutions in a later stage. Well EVGA is highly respected with their new ACX twin cooler. Gigabyte, MSI and ASUS are also top brands. I would recommend going for the EVGA one.

The Windforce will be better in almost every way, because it will be able to run cooler, produce less noise, and allow better overclocks. As for the amount of VRAM, it really depends on what kind of games you play. Some newer titles like BF4 tend to use more VRAM than the average bear, while most mainstream titles are still well within 2GB. Of course it will be better for higher resolutions, and more future-RESISTANT to go with 4GB, but by the time you're actually using 4GB of VRAM, the 770 may not be fast enough for the task.
