Well I've had my @ss all over the net looking at every single post or review on which 939 SLI mobo is the best so far I've seen three the Asus A8n-Sli, gigabyte GA-K8NXP-SLI, MSI K8N Diamond and the DFI Lanparty SLI-D. I can talk about how one guy said that the Asus is more reliable or that the gigabyte has better benchmarks (When they used different CPUs for each mobo) or how the MSI knows how to break dance.... its all crap anyway because i have not seen one single head to head comparison on these four boards the closest i came was one site comparing the MSI with the Gigabyte and they clamed (with a 400W PS in SLI mode.....WHAT???) that the gigabyte had better benchmarks but that really don't mean [-peep-] when you recommend both motherboards and don't rank them. I'm sick and tired of this, all i want is a all out battle between these four boards on SLI mode, stability, features, overclocking, and anything else thats worth comparing. If anybody has heard anything or has seen some GOOD (NOT CRAP) but GOOD comparisons of these four boards please let me know. Or if you have had any good or bad times with any of these mobos.

I felt your pain. I do feel that all are good. I guees it is what you are looknig for in the mobo. anandtech.com had some reviews on most of the SLI boards out but like you said no head to head. I do own the Gigabyte GA-K8NXP-SLI and it was a very easy install. I have been running it for about 3 weeks to a month with not as much as a hick up. It has been rock solid. I was working with Corsair a bit with testing the my TwinX 3200C2 and they said that I had very high benchmarks with 3Dmark03 and 05 in the SLI class using 6800 GT's. I ran memetest for 24 hours with no errors. Also I ran 3DMark03 for three hous and 3DMark05 for 4 hours looping with no problems. Here is my comp I hope it helps.. Good Luck.

I haven't seen a head-to-head comparison of these boards either. It would be interesting, but I think that the performance difference would be small between these boards. I would try to make the decision based on other features offered with the boards. If you're trying to get the absolute best performing board, then you need to see a direct comparison or piece together your conclusion based on as many different reviews on the boards as possible.

is Tom's most recent 939 mobo comparison. It only has Asus and MSIs SLI boards. It's good that the different boards are tested with same periph equipment, but it doesn't break out one board over the other. If you look at the results from the benchmarks, the Asus beats the MSI on nearly all of the benchmarks and the Asus board is close to the top on all of the benchmarks. Realistically, all of the 939s in this comparison perform at close to the same level.

Do you just want to see a comparison of the SLIs or will you be buying SLI? If buying, then my question is why SLI? What will your system build be and what is the purpose of the system? Are you going for bleeding edge performance, no matter the cost or do you want some price/performance thrown into the barrel?

Yea I've seen seriously every single review on all of these boards and yes Rugger I've seen the ones here too. I saw the review with the MSI and the Asus but I've also see where they compares the MSI to the Gigabyte and the Gigabyte beat the MSI across the board on benchmarks also. so Asus and GIgabyte both beat out MSI which means that the MSI is out (for me). But as far as seeing Gigabyte Vs. Asus I have been searching reviews everyday.

The Features of these board are hard to compares because they a come with what i want and seriously there are no major differences between the features anyway.

Also Rugger the reason I'm getting sli is because I'm going to get the best sli graphics card out now, Wait for the other one because there is no reall need for it now but maybe a year or so down the road there will be games that push more graphics, also by that time the price of my maching GPU will have dropped drimatticly so in the long run it will save me money by haveing two older GPU running instead of the more expensive new ones. Because im not going to upgrade for a while after this so i need to be future proof. Oh and price is not the issue it the preformance.

WHICH BOARD HAS FRICKEN BETTER BENCHMARKS ASUS OR GIGABYTE. WILL SOMEBODY PLEASE DO A HEAD TO HEAD ON THESE TWO BEAUTIFUL BEASTS OF MOTHERBOARDS WITH SAME CPU, MEMORY, GPUS, ALL THAT GOOD STUFF PPPPPLLLLLEEEAAAAASSSSEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you wanted to crunch some numbers you could do a comparison by proxy. Simply calculate the average percent that Asus beat MSI in the one comparison and do the same for the Giga vs MSI in the other one. Compare the two numbers. This will give you something to do with your frustration while waiting for somebody to do a complete review.

Obviously this will not be an exact science because all the test conditions for the benchmarks are not the same. The periph equipment may not even be comparable, but it can still give you a ballpark.

Ask your self this when looking at Asus vs Giga:
1. Beyond absolute performance/benchmarks, what else do you want from a mobo?
2. Have you had any bad experiences with either Giga or Asus?
3. Which mobo comes with the best box of "stuff" you like? (cables, games, programs, etc..)
4. Who has the better customer service?
5. Updates drivers/BIOS more often?

JMHO. Good luck with making your decision.

Hey Mr Whipper did you have any problems installing the Corsair pro memory into your Gygabyte GA-K8NXP-SLI? i read that one review had problems with the heat spreader bending because of the tight quarters around the DIMM slots.

I had no problems at all. I do believe that Gigabyte had one motherboard where the slots were a bit close but not the SLI board.

The ship date on the board was Jan 5 2005. I measures the distance between the memory and there is 4cm between the 2 sticks. Using a flashlight I was able to see the ram sockets between the ram. The ram is not touching. It does get closer as you get further to the mobo. Maybe that is what they had see in the review that you read. They were right about the PCIe slots though. I am using 2 6800 GT's so I dont have a problem at all. Under load my GPU's are around 56C. I hope this helps. If you want I would be more than happy to take a pic and e-mail it to ya. Just private message me with your e-mail address. Take care.
