Okay so basically i was looking at the ASUS STRIX DirectCU iii Overclocked 980 TI http://www.amazon.com/GeForce-Overclocked-384-bit-DisplayPort-Graphics/dp/B011ERJTYU/ref=sr_1_10?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1444556927&sr=1-10&keywords=gtx+980+ti
which was listed on amazon for around 680$ last Week and the none overclocked Asus strix is listed for 660$ http://www.amazon.com/dp/B013XFK0SK/ref=psdc_284822_t1_B011ERJTYU

i was planning on getting the Overclocked version since its only 20$ Extra and it will save me the trouble of overclocking it...but i check on today and the Overclocked version has went to 779$ !? What the Crap!? anyway the none overclocked version is still at 660$...but now im looking at other versions of the 980 Ti so im looking at the Gigabye G1 and the EVGA versions which is the best? FTW? SC+?

i really wanted the Strix OC 🙁

Thanks! so this is the best pick? by the way will it fit in the Corsair Spec 01 Case? Also i'm using Asrock Z97 Pro3 if that matters

Okay so i just went to check on Asus official Website and i actually found the non OC version of the Strix which i couldnt earlier and it says its clocks are 1000/1075 and memory at 7010 :\
compared to the OC Version which is 1216/1317 and memory at 7200

so now im reconsidering again..i found the Zotac AMP! Extreme for 685$ clocked at 1253/1355 and memory at 7220

So do you know anything about Zotac are they good? because it seems to be the highest factory overclocked 980 ti right at 685$ after the Strix OC which is 780$

what do you think?

Take my word for it, I have the exact card, the non-over clocked one, it has the power. As long as you have the CPU power, you will see some amazing things that come out of it. This card can over clock quite easy also.

I wouldn't get the MSI version, I had 4 of them that basically stutter and crash constantly when you apply even small OC, and if you add *any* voltage increase whatsoever. I hear good things about the Strix, and I settled for a pair of 980 ti Classified that work and OC very well.

I'm not trying to high-jack your thread but I'm also looking to purchase a couple of 980 ti's. What's the difference between EVGA's ftw and classy? and do they both come with color changing software for the led logo?

no worries...im still looking maybe i'll wait a bit and check if the Strix OC version price drops back to 680$ if not i'll probably settle for the standard Strix cause its what really fits my PC theme

What about the g1 gaming ?? I would go for that or the msi lightning
There might have been bad oc vresions of msi cards but the lightning has kingpin performance 😉

Yeah, i'm looking at the Gigabyte G1 right now...but im hesitant i need to see more reviews and how well does it overclock the MSI lighting is too much yellow for me also its at 800$

Jeah i thought thoes cost the same x)
Thiese really dont matter that much im always getting gigabyte now but i changed from the asus ah 3650 to the gtx 970 g1
Thoes arent really on the same level so im kind of having better experience with giga

Really? Four bad ones? This is my third MSI Gaming card in three years (a 770, 980 and now the 980 Ti), and they have all been flawless. My 980 Ti is whisper quiet has an ASIC of 71%, and I have never seen any crashes or stutters. NEVER. And I OC the hell out of it. I think you must have something in your system causing the problem. MSI is top notch in quality.

Nope, nothing wrong in my build that's 100% new components, I had 4 980 ti Gaming 6gs from MSI, between 68-72% ASIC quality. If the card boosted past around 1430mhz core clock it started to stutter, and crash, and I tried different driver versions, and overvoltage settings. I got my pair of EVGA cards 78/72%, and can offset by an additional 100mhz core clock and boosts to 1500-1550 or so, without the same artifacts and driver crashes that the MSI got. Difference? Just the card.

Clearly 4 cards isn't enough to say that MSI has a bad product, but EVGA has the best warranty and customer support of any of the other manufacturers [they win awards for this, and from experience with most of the manufacturers, I can tell you they aren't as polite and [at least outwardly] patient as EVGA], and top notch OC potential. 90 day Step-Up program? 24/7 support? Asus has some decent performance from Strix, but I'll be using EVGA forever.

Evga has unparalleled customer support, and outputs some very nice stuff. That said, I've always had very good dealings with Asus, both in products and service, so for me it came down to what looked better through the pc window. A few fps is a small price to pay either way for a nice looking build. And that's all you'll get with the current OC branded boards, a few fps difference and unless you have a monitor capable of showing that difference, its all a moot point anyways

Oh, yes that makes sense i just checked and its available now for 670$, just ordered mine! apparently 8 is left in stock now. thanks for bringing it to my attention!
