Many owners of recently-manufactured Acer and Gateway desktop computers are experiencing surprise, frustration, and dissatisfaction, when they open up their PC and discover the difficulty of a PSU upgrade due to an Acer/Gateway proprietary 12-pin PSU-to-mobo connector. . The purpose of this thread is to create a resource identifying which Acer and Gateway desktops made within last few years have the proprietary 12-pin PSU-to-mobo connector, instead of a standard ATX 24-pin or 20-pin connector.
If you have an Acer or Gateway desktop, please identify the make and model number of your desktop, and state whether your desktop has a standard 20 / 24-pin ATX connector or the proprietary 12-pin connector. . [Or maybe even some other type of connector ? ?]
