My new Graphics Card that is coming only has the following ports -

Dual-link DVI-I x 1
Dual-link DVI-D x 1
HDMI x 1 (version 1.4a)
DisplayPort x 1

However my monitor only has a VGA Cable

Is it possible to purchase a converter/adapter cheaply? I've heard some things about VGA being analogue and the rest being digital etc.

Hi there. Unfortunately I have no idea yet as my new system is arriving tomorrow and being the idiot I am, I left it to the last minute to check whether or not the card has a VGA port.

VGA is not often supported directly on graphic cards especially with high end ones.
You can ask the place where you bought your pc if it will come with all the accessories that your components has.

Most cards that come with a DVI-I port will also come with a DVI-I -> VGA adapter.

This passive adapter is as good as having a VGA port on the card.

As others have said, they are cheap if you need one.

Most websites selling them should list what the card comes with.

I bought a custom configured PC. Unfortunately I don't have the time to wait for parts to arrive and to build it myself. It's a R9 285 2GB

Well, I would guess 50-50 chance it comes with one.

It is starting to get less and less common because VGA is quickly being removed from monitors and computers.

If the card happens to have 2 DVI-I type ports, look on the metal for an embossed VGA logo next to the right port. I have seen some AMD partner cards come like that(2 DVI-I ports, but one is connected as DVI-D only).

Yeah. I called up Scan (UK based company) and they said their 3XS configuration systems don't include the adapter apparently.
