I stupidly bought an HDMI cable without realizing that my laptop doesn't have a hole to match the cord, and I'm pretty sure my TV doesn't either. I am assuming this will require adapters of some sort on both ends, but I'm not sure exactly what I'll need.

You will probably need a Mini DisplayPort cable. However, some TVs don't have these.
Therefore, what you will need is a Mini DisplayPort to VGA cable.
If your TV doesn't have a VGA port, try a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable.
Just check to see if your laptop has a Mini DisplayPort port first. :lol:
