I would recommend an OCed 8320, that should be able to support a 980(Ti) without bottleneck. The 6300 can do up to a 970.
Overall, you will get better performance on the intel side. Not just higher peak FPS, but higher minimum FPS as well.

would an 8350 do better? and the amd 9000 series arent worth it because theyre just overclocked cpus from the 8000 cpus right?
They are not worthwhile processors, as an OCed 8320 will perform nearly identical, and support the same GPUs.
PCIe 2.0 does, so long as they are running at x8 mode or higher.
