Which build is worth the money?

Alright, so I have two builds.
Option one: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/h8txCJ
Option two: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/2qv8sY

The difference between the two is that I save $300 on option one. I wanna know if it's worth it going to a GTX 980 for option two. I will be gaming and video editing/rendering. I will be doing this on 1080p (1920x1080). I want to be able to play games at least 60-70fps at ultra settings.

Basically the question is, will I be able to do this with option one (GTX 970) or will I have to put in $300 more for option two (GTX 980)?

Another question, if I go with option two, will I have to get more wattage on my power supply? At the moment I chose 600W, would I need more for option two?

Solution
The 970 is enough to max just about any game at 1080p currently, but if you want to "future-proof" your rig, the 980 would be the better option. As for the power supply, 600w is enough for a 980 if you were to go that route.

So, it would run The Witcher 3 in 60fps?

I know its not out yet, but can't you estimate by looking at the system requirements?

If you are going to be video editing try this cpu if you aren't going to be overclocking.

Intel Xeon E3-1276 V3
It is cheaper and is far better when rendering and video editing.
Also I think the 970 will be able to play the witcher 3 and max or close to max or you could try a r9 290 or 290x card

So, Xeon is better than i7?

There really isn't such a thing as making a build "future proof" and spending an extra $300 for a 5 FPS margin isn't making that so.

Both builds look pretty decent, but extremely poor choice of power supply. Spending that kind of coin on a gaming rig only to pair it with a sub par PSU is an absolute no. You need at least a Corsair HXi or an EVGA G2/P2, or a Seasonic X. The EVGA B series are poor quality HEC units and should not be trusted.

So, Xeon is better than i7?

Don't bother with a Xeon for gaming - overclocking will benefit far more than extra threads will.

So, should I got with the 980 or 970? I will be editing and rendering as well as playing games, so. And, 600w will supply enough right?

Hows this: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/seasonic-power-supply-s12ii620bronze

Depends on the budget. If it's $1200 or under, I would go with the 970. Over $1200 go with the 980.

That is a quality unit but you should get at least 750W or 850W for expandability - if you get a 970 or 980 you should get a second one down the road.

Yes, but your statement regarding extra threads doesn't apply here. Xeon 1276v3 has the same amount of threads, as the i7 4790k. It is basically a non k series i7 4790, but costs more. Not a wise choice, I agree. If getting a Xeon, the 1231v3 is the one to get. Price/Performance diminishes quickly past that point.

Is it a big difference between to 970 and 980 on 1080p?

Oh for some reason I was thinking of an i5-4690K, disregard that statement then.

For 1080p, the cost difference isn't worth it.

Yeah I agree. I'd rather get a 970 and SLI it for a triple monitor setup.
