Which Cheap Thermal Paste?

Thinking about repasting the CPU in my laptop since i've owned it for two years and it's never been done before. GTA V comes out on Tuesday so i want my laptop to be running a bit cooler, at the moment my temperatures are hitting over 100C and causing throttling.

Which cheap thermal paste should i buy, and also, how should i remove the old dried stuff from the processor?

Yeah, i was thinking about Arctic Silver as it seemed to be the most popular one. Guess i should go with that then!

use iso propyl alcohol to clean. Its the surface grooves that really need cleaning and not just the bulk.

Use a coffee filter/microfiber cloth together with isopropyl alcohol to clean dried up thermal paste and wait for it to evaporate before applying the paste.

Avoid paper towels and tissue as it will leave behind fibres which can potentially decrease cooling potential.
