I was wondering which component(s) I should upgrade to increase my gaming performance? It runs games pretty damn well already but I'd like more FPS for 144 Hz gaming.

Basically, if you want more FPS with that system you would need a better graphics card. I'd recommend the 2080S or the 2080 ti considering the 1080 you have is basically a 2070 without RTX. The i5 8600 is going to be hurting you moderately at 1080p and a bit at 1440p but not so much its worth spending 750-900 dollars getting a new mobo CPU and ram. If doing something like that was what you intended then we need a budget to go on.

I mainly play PUBG and and others FPS's. I am looking forward to CoD Modern Warfare and I hear its recommended specs are pretty high. I also stream occasionally.

Cool. If you want to be able to game at 1440p @ 144hz, I would definitely suggest GPU's at or above the GTX-1080ti level. This probably means something like a RTX-2080/Super or RTX-2080ti. I don't think AMD offers viable alternatives at that resolution and frame rate, at least not for most triple A modern games with high settings. Also since you mentioned that you occasionally stream, using NVENC with Nvidia GPUs is a pretty huge boon to encoding (from what I've heard online).

Honestly could upgrade the CPU to an i7-8700k for maximum performance, but thats a lot lower priority than a better GPU.
