Which Computer to Buy

Hello, I've been having second thoughts about one of my computer builds and whether not to buy it. I've thought about it for a while and i still cant figure out what to do. My first build was approved by you guys but now i think i might downgrade the graphics card to a 560 ti. Im also worried the the ram wont work in the build but I probably just overlooked something. I will be buying this in about 10 days. Below are both of the builds.

In this build everything is fine but like I said im having second thoughts on the higher priced graphics card.

Going to the second build i save about $150 to put into the OS and anything else. I know the psu is an overkill but there is a very high chance I will get a second card for sli down the road. And will cooling be an issue? Also what thermal paste should I use.






The summary is im leaning towards the cheaper build to save a few bucks. The 560Ti will be fine for Crysis 2 if i can play it on a $100 graphics card then i should be able to play it on the ti just fine.


Questions- What sound card should I add onto the cheaper build with a budget of about $50?
What headphones without a mic be could to use to for listening to music in high quality? I was thinking the bose AE2
And what other random *** could i add onto this

Forget soundcard for now, onboard is way good enough these days,
you can add one later if you really wish,
headphones, no idea, I use speakers hehe
if your going to slil in the future, look up some reviews on both the 560ti (avoid the ti btw, just standard 560 if you must and tweak yourself)
and the 580, see which performs better in sli, that may influence your purchase now,
if it was me though, I'd get the 580 now and see what the future brings

two 560Ti's are actually better performers than ONE 580.

headphones - you could look at Astro gamers range of headphones, Tritton's AX series, Turtle beach, Sennheiser and Logitech. Astro gamer being my top recommends and the tritton being my second.


Thermal paste can be added to it,

Arctic cooling's MX - 2 or 4
Otherwise, Arctic silver AS5

apart from the cas and gpu, everything else looks the same. Go with the GTX 580 and the Corsair white. My favorite case btw

headphones. i have tritton ax720's and they are BOSS however not as good as the bose for music listening!

BOSE are overpriced plastic imported from China so go figure, i gave up on that brand after the 90's when they started skimping on material. Take the Acoustimass for example - i can remember how heavy sounding they were, solid sound when watching movies and listening to music. Now, they are just overpriced for the quality...better looking else where. Oh one more thing, which has the greatest priority, gaming or music?

Bearing in mind future sli plans, what are 2x 580's like compared to 2x 560ti's?
thats why I advised op to check them out and he can plan accordingly

and their pretty good but the right speaker is held on with duct tape and super glue when i was somehow crushed. I was just at best buy a few hours ago and tried don the beats studio they were great but the $400 price tag could buy a fairly good gpu. and most of the time the headphones would be used for music with a little crysis 2.

Someone should have pointed it out to you by now, but that Asus board you have in your build is meant for a single card set up. It runs dual cards @ x4 instead of x8 (which is what you want for dual cards). For dual 580's you want a 900+w psu. For dual 560's you want a 750w psu.

Thanks for the info why me im surprised no one had caught the mistake on the mobo, but for now i will probably just go with on 560ti and maybe add another when the time comes. Because for me i play a game called eve online which doesnt take a whole lot of power to run. I do some crysis 2 sometimes. Theres another free fps i play more often called combat arms. while it would be nice to have the 580 I think a single 560ti for a few months is fine.
