Question Which CPU should I buy for upgrading on a budget ?

Well if you look at his last processor is a 6700 that is a lot of years between upgrades (8 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) so what you say means nothing. Most people don't just upgrade every year or 2.

So your last CPU lasted 8 years before your upgrading, but now your planning on upgrading 2 years from now?

No. What future proofing means for me is that everything except my gpu/peripherals/display and maybe storage, has to last as long as possible with the possibility of future upgrading such like the AM5. If I buy a motherboard with AM5 now, I can easaly last 10 years from now thanks to the 9000 series by then.
