I am looking to upgrade my cpu because my computer is getting slow. I mostly play GTA V, RDR2, Warzone and Doom eternal, but i also use it for work. I don't really care about 4k Gaming.

My current build:

Cpu: Intel core i7-3770K 3,5 ghz
Cpu cooler: Intel fan
Gpu: Msi Gtx 960 4gb
Ram: Transcend Jetram 2x8 gb ddr3
Motherboard: Asrock H61M-DGS
Storage: WD caviar green 1TB
Psu: HKC vpower 550w

You have no cpu upgrade options with your current motherboard.
Not only would you need a new motherboard, but your ddr3 ram will not work either.

Before anything, try this simple test:
Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
This makes the graphics card loaf a bit.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you confirm that you are likely more cpu limited.

A I3-13100 will be about $150.
Do not fall for the cheaper F suffix nonsense.
The extra $25 or so for integrated graphics is a good insurance policy for graphics card issues.
A B760 motherboard will be <$100
a 16gb ram kit may be $40.
If you multitask, consider 32gb.
And, a 1tb ssd may be $100.
Repurpose your HDD for backup.
You can go up from there.
If your windows is not retail, you may need a new windows license.

Lastly, I do not recognize that psu.
If it is of poor quality, you may want to replace it with one with a 7 year or better warranty.

No doubt you will get suggestions for ryzen solutions.
Price/performance will be comparable.
But, since you are familiar with the Intel and nvidia environment, it will be simpler for you to stick with that.

Thanks for the recommendation, I really appreciate it

That's avery bad PSU and it's nowhere near 550w. There are 2 junk 12v rails connected to each other on the inside so actually there's one 12v rail of maybe 18A, maybe 36A or smt in between. No OCP, no OTP. You have to replace the PSU too.

I recommand you to look for a complete system at the used market. Tweakers v&a or Marktplaats.
Would the cooler master MWE 750 bronze v2 230v be a good replacement?

Th psu is: HKC vpowr 550w
:homer:

Pardon me but that PSU is garbage. Worse than garbage. It wasn't good when it was new and now there's noway it can deliver clean 550W output, despite the fact that your current CPU and graphics card combo don't demand 550W.

First thing you should replace is that PSU, especially if you want to get better/new hardware especially a more powerful/demanding GPU.

EDIT: The PSU suggested above is a good one. Although wattage depends on what you would get but for that budget a good 650W unit would be OK I think.
