Question Which CPU stress testing utility is the safest for overclocking purposes ?

I use AIDA64 Extreme and Prime95 but then I want as much stress as possible while I watch the core temps. I stop the stress program if I hit 95C and improve my cooling. My i9-14900K passed a 16 hour test with AIDA64 Extreme and a Lian Li 360 AIO a few days ago (highest temp 80C) on my latest build so its now in use.

I'm happy when I can run 8 hours or longer (although I often will go longer if I have the time) with 100% CPU use and no throttling.

Safety is you being in the loop, a "safe" program would do you no good, you want 100% CPU use for maximum temperature generation for a true stress test.

All are probably safe.
A processor will monitor it's own temperatures and will throttle or shut off to protect itself.

More likely, danger comes with fiddling with uncontrolled voltage settings.

Do you have a real need to overclock?
Today's motherboards and processors do a good job of boosting a few cores which is exactly what a gamer wants.
