Which cpu to get for gaming

Hi there, since I had trouble with my last thread I came up with these two cpu's to choose from can you please help me pick which one to go for that would be great thank you.

Heres the choices

i5 7640X clocked at 4.00Ghz or
i7 7740X clocked at 4.30Ghz

Which one do you suggest?

the i5 will perform pretty much the same, but is a lot cheaper.

The i7 is definitely better than the i5 than gaming, not sure where you got the idea that they aren't.

OP, What monitor are you intending to use?

you wont notice much change on fps or quality of the game, nor physics or anything. BUT i7 is more powerful and if you pretend to record or stream, or even listen to music on youtube while playing, buy i7. if you dont want to spend much buy i5

Best to get an i5 and invest in a really good gpu

Though I don't recommend either. I suggest Either the i7 7700k or i7 8700k. The faster CPUs will be beneficial with the higher refresh rate.
