However the cons of the FX4130 is negligible if you have a discrete GPU

Sub, how do you figure? GPU boss give the Pentium a higher score. And if this is for gaming then that link is useless as there are no game benchmarks.

Here is the results of the 4170 against the 3220. You are asking about a slower AMD chip against a faster Intel in your case. Gaming results would be worse, while the application results would be more even. You are better off with the 3420.

I'd agree if it wasn't an FX4170 and instead something like an athlon x4 750k.

Fx 4130, it has very good Ocing room and it's quite cheap

Hoenstly just either spend the extra 20 bucks on an fx6300 or just grab the G3420
