Question Which generation of USB 3 do I have?

I have a laptop with USB 3.1 ports but I'd like to know how I find out whether they are gen 1 or 2?

Is there anyway to determine this from Windows 10.

Yes, I know it is USB 3.1 but my question was whether it was gen 1 or 2 as there is a difference in speed between the two and telling me it's USB 3.1 does not tell me the speed...

Check to see what logos you have next to the port.

Ah yes good idea...

It was very hard to see as the case is black and he USB symbol is also black but it looks very similar to this:

but there is a hardly distinguishable "3.1" below the large circle on the left.

In the absence of a "10" anywhere on the symbol, I suspect that it will therefore be gen 1 😀
