Currently have a gtx 1060, but the one I received has finger print marks on it, so I should be able to replace it?

Before I do so, I wanted to ask what gpu is most suitable for my needs/system. Want to play at high/ultra settings at 1080p/60hz, i5 4440, 8gb ram. So which gpu?

Thanks.

If the 1060 isn't meeting your requirement the obvious step up @1080 would be the 1070, the RX480 isn't going to offer wildly difference performance (better under DX12 and generally slightly worse with DX11).

Do you mean you want to return the 1060 for a refund? If you can return it depends on consumer law where you live, in the UK a few finger prints shouldn't matter when returning it under remote selling laws (I assume you've only just got the card). You need to touch the card to install it and generally speaking T&C's that say you can't return something you opened are invalid.

If you're looking to sell it on to fund a new card, just be honest about condition when you list it.

Exchange, if I decide to stick with a 1060. The finger prints were already on there, not mine. First time I have seen that on a new component before.

So you think you received used one..if so then replace it with same GPU, GTX 1060 is powerful card, enough for 1080p gaming
As consumer you paid for brand new GPU, so they should replace it with brand new
I've never seen finger prints on any brand new products. This happens only when someone broke package seal and do something with original product. replaced it with new one

I personally would get a full refund and buy from another company. I doubt this switch was performed by the manufacturer and it sounds to me like they've sent you a card that was previously returned by another customer, they have no business opening a retail packaged item like a GPU. Any company that would try and pull this isn't worth dealing with at all.

I would really like to see those fingerprints, could you send a photo? (if you didn't return it already)

Yeah, I can do that. Also just realised once I've seen it in good sunlight, there appears to be water marks on it. I'll also include those pictures.
