Which gpu is better for Gaming?

Solution

My EVGA SC gtx 760 can play BF4 on Ultra at 70-80 FPS with AA off. With 2x AA i can get a steady 50-60 FPS

Have you looked at the EVGA SC gtx 760? Comes overclocked and with their ACX cooler

Don't grab that one. That one uses a reference cooler so it doesn't cool as well, in effect you won't be able to overclock as well. Look for the ones that have dual fans as they will cool much better. I believe there are no non-reference coolers that are all black like that. Asus cards are mostly black with some red stripes. EVGA coolers are more of a dark-gray color. MSI has some red on the top, but not a lot. Gigabyte is all black, but the fans are transparent.

I think Gigabyte is the best compromise for good cooling and black color cooler.

It doesn't matter how good your airflow is. The reference cooler on that MSI card you listed does not take advantage of airflow. It just takes in air and it releases all of the hot air out of the back of the card. The non-reference cooler takes advantage of airflow. So with the non-reference cooler, the better your airflow the cooler it runs. With the reference cooler, it will stay around the same temp despite how good/bad your airflow is.

Go for the MSI lol, a $100 difference is not worth it. If there are 7950s or 280Xs avaliable, please notify me.

The reference cooler will be absolutely fine on a GTX 760. Come on guys. This isn't the 780 ti we're talking about which does really well on a reference cooler as well. The 760 will be absolutely fine with the single fan cooling design, however you may want to set a custom fan profile in MSI afterburner because they're usually a little loud by default and it's unnecessary. Even on low fan speeds it will stay within very safe temperatures. The 760 doesn't exactly output very much heat.

Reference Im not sure about, but I wouldn't be surprised if you could.

Yes it's THAT good. There's absolutely nothing wrong with reference coolers. They work great. They can just be a little noisy sometimes. Just set a custom fan profile and keep the temps under 95c.
