I am currently trying to determine what GPU I should get for a potential work station for myself. My budget is approx 2,000$ CAD. The main use(s) for this PC are Photo/Video Editing with some VR gaming and potentially some 3D modelling.
These are my current options for GPUs:
ASUS Dual NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 V2 OC Edition 12GB
MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 3060 12GB
XFX RX 6800
XFX Speedster QICK319 Radeon RX 6750XT
[POTENTIALLY] PowerColor Hellhound AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT

CPU Choices(should they matter):
Ryzen 9 5950X - 16 Cores 32 Threads / Ryzen 9 5900X - 12 Cores 24 Threads ( Ryzen 9 7900X - 12 Cores 24 Threads [AM5] ( if I decide to have more upgrade choices with the AM5 socket seeing as AM4s are EOL. My limit is my budget which is why I may go with the 5950X/5900X.)

Entirely depends on the amount of vram you are going to need. Generally speaking nvidia cards are better for these kinds of tasks but they lack vram. If you need 16gb your cheapest option is the 4060ti 16gb.

Regarding the CPUs, definitely don't go for the 5950x. The 7900x will be a lot faster for most of the tasks you listed.
