[SOLVED] Which GPU should I pair with my i7-10700k?

I'm currently upgrading my PC. Bought an i7-10700k and im looking to upgrade my 1080. Is a 3070 a sufficient upgrade and pair for the CPU, or should I spend the extra money and try to snag a 3080?

My gaming monitor is the AW 2518Hf I believe. So 1080/ 240.

You should probably wait to see how Big Navi does before making any decision, because you likely won't be able to get your hands on a 3070 anytime soon. That said, I should be receiving my 3080 in the next two weeks.

3070 stocks are rumored to be a little more prepared than the 90s and 80s. But the more I think about it the more I'd rather spend a little extra on the 3080. And I'm not really interested in the Big Navi, whether its a better investment or not. Personal preference I guess, same reason I chose the i7-10700k over waiting for the new AMD chips, just prefer intel.

I have a 10700k with a 2070S. I'll get a 3080 when stock gets better and bypass the 3070

Btw benchmarks are out out for the 3070 so you can compare and see if the bump to the 3080 is worth it (I think it is)

My biggest thing is, I wanna decide before the 3070 release. Because if I decide on one of those I'm gonna be up at midnight waiting for the release haha

I'd spend the extra $200 for a 3080 if you can swing it

Absolutely can. I'm just an impatient person haha. Tonight I will most likely be swapping out my new PSU, CPU and Mobo.

Be patient!! Trust me I'm there with you. I'm itching to get rid of my 2070S and get a 3080. I need more power for Flight Sim 2020 and a racing sim running at 2k res.
