I have a hp p6-2260ea and I would love to play games like the Sims2. When we purchased this years ago, the sales girl said it had a graphics card and would be able to handle games like the Sims! What would be a good low budget graphics card?

Can you more explicitly define "low budget" ? That might mean $100 to some and $20 to others.
Your motherboard has a PCIe slot, so you can add a graphics card. It has a small power supply, so you will have to limit to graphics cards without supplemental power.
And it has a low end CPU (i3 2xxx). You might also want to look at the product specs -- https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03382053 for the list of supported CPUs. A used i5-3550 would be a good update. They...

Our budget is £40 tops. Will have a look for the one you mentioned on eBay.
