Which GTX 1070 brand should i get (few options)?

Hello guys,

i am planning to buy gtx 1070 series card. I've selected few models that i want to buy. I never overclocked graphic card manually, only over the automatic OC feature(i am interested about that).

Which of these card would be the best bang for the buck but still the best performance and quality of components?

I don't care about RGB lightning and that stuff. I just want to get the best value/price per performance/quality.

Also, if anyone know, i've heard that the gtx 1000 series have problems with whine coil. Is that fixed or the problem still persists?

I also heard that you can get 1y extra warranty on gigabyte card if you register it on their page. So it's 4y warranty instead of 3y. That is also key factor maybe.

I am not the GPU expert so that's why i've opened this thread.

P.S. I am from Europe so the prices here are little bit higher than in US

The guts all come from the same source, namely nvidia.
The differences are in the fanciness of the coolers and the amount of factory overclock applied.
I favor EVGA as a brand, they seem to have an active usa based support forum.
The SC is already factory overclocked, I doubt you would see a significant difference in performance from any of the other choices.

I too favor EVGA, almost exclusively, however I'm in the US. Exactly what country are you in? Saying "Europe" isn't terribly helpful as there are a LOT of countries in Europe and they can have wildly different availability and pricing.

I am from Croatia but i'll be buying the card in Hungary

Gigabyte g1 costs: 604.78$

Evga sc costs: 644.24$

Asus strix costs: 683.31$

All the prices are from the stores in Hungary

This is the page where i am looking the prices of all the stores in Hungary. I would like to spend the max of 650$ on a gtx 1070 card. If you could find or recommend me the better graphic card for that price in the Hungary i'd gladly buy another model of gtx 1070. Which card is best in your opinion in that price range?

Looks like the Gigabyte card is the least expensive for you. I'd go with that one. There is not ENOUGH differences in performance or features between it and other cards to make it worth paying significantly more. And, the Windforce cards are generally pretty good anyhow.

I'm actually rather surprised that neither Palit or Zotac are cheaper in your market, because they usually are in EU countries, especially the further you get from the UK.

I haven't researched that brands because i usually aim for the best brands like msi, giga, asus, evga 😀

Which gtx 1070 model would you recommend me to buy if i haven't had the limit on $? I am just curious. Maybe i could squeeze few more bucks if that card is much better that the g1 gaming one.

No card is much better than any other at the same price point.
In general, I feel that you get fair value from a factory overclocked.
The maximum factory overclocked cards will have a bit excessive price premium.

You might do better to look for a base GTX1070ti than to chase a max GTX1070 overclocked card.

Palit and Zotac are good brands too, they just aren't as popular in the USA as these other brands due to mainly marketing and logistical reasons. There are differences between manufacturers but this is mainly on the order of design and aesthetics.

If the price wasn't significantly more than other cards in it's category, and right now there is NOTHING in the graphics card market that makes any damn sense thanks to bitcoin mining, I'd probably target the EVGA SC2 Gaming iCX or FTW2 Gaming iCX.
