Which hdd to buy

What hdd should i buy when im experiencing lags while playing gta 5 or when turning off the game. When i minimize i see that hdd is on 99% so it can't keep up. I have wd blue hdd 7200 rpm with 16mb cache and i want to ask if i buy hdd with 64 cache, would it improve the speed or should i buy an ssd?

It wont actually do anything really unless there's a fault with your HDD.

Can you list the rest of your specs? It might not be the HDD.

If you think it's your HDD you can do a SMART scan with CrystalDiskInfo, and also do a malware scan with MalwareBytes.

I already did a clean install of my operating system so there should be no such problem. A lot of people have the same problem on gta V. My specs : motherboard : z170x-gaming 3 , Graphics : amd 380 , CPU : i7 6700 , RAM : kingston 3200 mhz , i buyed completely new pc exept my hdd and power source.

What are the temperatures while in game? For both GPU/CPU? There can be a bottleneck if your temperatures are too high.

It's more likely to be other processes causing lag, as HDD's almost never bottleneck games unless they are very old or faulty. Are there any other running CPU/network processes writing to/reading from the disk that could be to blame?

What's the exact model of your HDD? If it's SATA III it almost certainly isn that imo.

It's SATA 3. For a lot of people it does when they play a mision and then go back to open world. Then it lags like hell. I saw a thread where guys said that they bought an ssd and the lags stopped.

Just because you upgraded components doesn't mean there's not a temperature issue or something to do with anything but the HDD.

I'm trying to assist you with this issue, so the best you can do is do the tests i'm recommending.

Also, have you got AA (Anti-aliasing) turned off? That will increase frames.

What I think you are talking about is not 'lag', but simply the time it takes to read the next level off the HDD.

A different HDD will not change that, 64mb cache or not.
An SSD will.
