Dear users,
I'm about to finish purchasing the components for my first build. These are the main features:
GPU: Nvidia 3090 FE
PROCESSOR: AMD Ryzen 5950x
MoBo: MSI Ryzen X570 MEG Unify
AIO: NZXT Kraken Z73
RAM: Corsair LPX 128GB (4x32) 3200 CL16
M.2 SSD: Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus 1 TB
HDD: Seagate IronWolf Pro 6 TB
CASE: Cooler Master H500M
The use will be exclusively for work. In particular 3D simulations and 3D rendering. Therefore the PC load will be very often high.
That said, I need to figure out which power supply is right for me. After reading several posts on this forum and using an online calculator, comparing it with the indicative value of pcpartpicker, I calucated 700W at full load. Considering an allowance, I'm going to choose a 1000W power supply.
My first choice therefore falls on the Seasonic PRIME PX 1000W 80+ Platinum. However, at the moment it seems unobtainable and the first availability in some stores is reported at the end of May. Theoretically it is the only component that I am missing at the moment. So I'm stuck.
I therefore have two questions in this regard.
- Is my choice okay? Both brand and vattage? A couple of friend said that 1000W are too much and 850W is fair enough. What matters most to me is that the power supply is of excellent quality. Given the nature of the computer and the use I make of it, I need it to be of good quality. (I'm also not interested in any OCs or updates in the near future). So I was also considering an Asus Thor 850W Platinum, but I'm not totally sure if it's enough for my build (what you think about it?)
- Given the shortage of seasonal PSUs, do you need to recommend a viable (if not better) alternative (let's say I haven't set budget limits for the PSU)?
Many thanks to all!
