Which is better Asus viii Hero or Formula?

We all know which is superior in aesthetics but which does better in overclocking?

The Hero, the Formula is a micro-ATX variant.

ASUS MAXIMUS VIII FORMULA is better Motherboard than ASUS MAXIMUS VIII HERO.
There is good price difference between them. Choose wisely. If you are on tight budget or being compromised on any other thing then go for HERO. If you have big budget then go for FORMULA.
FORMULA comes with full LED layout and better suited for Water Cooling.

Nevermind, ignore my above post, yeah the formula is the top of the line board, the Gene is the mATX one.
I personally don't recommend spending money on a Z170 board above the Hero, above that the features aren't good value for money.

I as i thought so. But i have read in some review forum that the hero is rated at 96% at overclocking while formula is at 93% only. I know in aesthetics formula is a winner but which is really better at overclocking?

Ok so hero is good for budget and formula for enthusiasts but do the hero really does better at overclocking than the formula?

Why can't Asus just use a numbered scheme like everyone else? ;.;
No, the Formula is slightly better in this regard technically, but you won't notice a difference between them in practice.

I guess that review forum i have read is really not that accurate as they rated the formula at 93% only in overclocking compared to the hero which is at 97%. Formula must be really good in overclocking since it is expensive.

Edit: also, i better prefer the design on the formula vii's color scheme of black and red compared to the formula viii's color scheme of black-gey. Unfortunately formula vii is not an option for me anymore due to its older version chipset of z-97. I'm just a bit of dismayed on the shift of color scheme.

But on VIII Formula you are getting LED layout through-out the board which looks great. If you set LED color to RED then it will look better than old series and even VIII HERO.

You've got a point. But i have seen in some videos that the red accent leds is not as bright as i wanted it to. But anyway features are what that counts
