Which is Better Pentium 4 3.4Ghz or Pentium D 2.8Ghz

I'm wondering which Processor is Faster?

Intel Pentium 4 3.4Ghz
V.S
Intel Pentium D 2.8Ghz

Probably the Pentium D... Though these CPUs are a decade old or older.

Don't buy those. They are so old, you can't even browse modern internet with flash on such hardware.

I need to buy one or another, I bought a New Mobo for a Vintage Build.

The Pentium D has two cores compared to the Pentium 4 which has only one.

Even if you take Single Threaded Applications into account.
The Pentium D will still rock because many of the Processor Resources can be shared by the two processors giving the computer a headroom for Single Threaded Applications.

I wonder why you would want to buy a processor that is 11 year old.

Why not run the application in Virtual Machine?
You can run the application on a much faster, newer computer on a Virtual Machine.

Pentium D 2.8 Ghz is a bit more powerful than Pentium 4 3.4 GHz, but both CPUs are outdated!
