I'm looking into buying a hard drive to store videos in! I hear that SSDs are not good for that because they start to slow-down when they write alot of data. In case of this being true, what would the performance comparison look like for an internal HDD and SSD in an enclosure case?

Solution
As for the performance differences between hdd and ssd, that really depends on how things are connected. Speed always goes at the speed of the slowest thing in the chain. Put a 2000MB/s SSD in a usb2 enclosure and it will get 40-50MB/s Max no matter what.

Put an SSD or HDD in a usb3 enclosure connected to a usb3 port with a usb3 cable and then you will get very near the normal performance of the drives. Replace that cable with a usb2 cable and your back to 40-50mb/s (Slowest thing in the chain again)...

The problem ssd's have is they have a limited amount of times that they can be written to. Unlike Reads, Writing wears the storage cells. Its spec is called Endurance. This varies with the technology used to make the storage cells.
