hi guys im confused as to which one to buy between 3700x vs 9700k or a cheap build with ryzen 3600, i will mostly be doing gaming and might do some production (not sure of it), as for the gup i wanna go with a 2070 super, i currently have a 1080p monitor, want my system to last a few years before a new upgrade. things got confusing after reading about the 10th gen comet lake (i hope thats right) which will either release this year or early 2020. should i wait or go with either one of them, and if i go with the recent processors as 9700k has few more frames than the 3700x for gaming but will that change if i record/live stream my game simultaneously while playing as the 3700x seems like it can handle it rather than a 9700k.

Solution
They are very close.

In reality, you should go with the 3700x if you are considering production or streaming.

But, you could buy a 3600 and budget more money for gpu as the 3600 wont limit really any gpu
10th gen comet lake
14nm+++++ No real improvement. You are welcome to wait, but id rather not wait and enjoy a new setup now.

If you may do production or stream, go for the 3700x. They are close enough in gaming that the 3700xs major wins in other applications make the 3700x the better CPU overall.

You also get a better upgrade path with the 3700x, not to mention the 3700x is cheaper than the 9700k.

in my place they are almost the same price bt the issue is withe the cooling, ryzen has the stock cooler and intel doesnt so have to spend more on intel like an AIO so i can overclock it, ryzen doesnt overclock much so the AIO money is utilised somewhere else.
even some of the videos on youtube shows that the 3600 is close enough for gaming compared to 9700k
