Ok, I am about to buy a new graphics card. For the price and the best card, which one is the best. I am looking at ATI. Out of the 9600SE, All-in-Wonder 9600, 9800, or 9800 pro, which one do you guy think is the best. I am really looking at something between the 9800 and 9800Pro, so if you guys could tell me what the big difference is and if it is really worth 100 to 200 dollars more for the 9800pro

Avoid the SE like the plague. SE stands for Sucks Extreme.

The 9800 Pro is the top of the line graphics card on the market presently. End of story, it'll rape the 9600, 9800np, the AIW 9600.

The 9700 Pro might be a good choice for you... it's cheaper than a 9800 and performs alot better than a 9600.

Yeah, i figured that about the SE. I just wondered if the 9800 Pro was worth the money over the 9800. We dont have the 9700 hundred here at Circuit city, soooo.

I don't personally think the price of the 9800 PRO is worth the premium over the $200 plain-jane 9800.

The 9800 PRO has a clockspeed advantage but it doesn't make a dramatic difference. And don't forget, you can overclock your 9800 and get almost the same performance.

a 9800 non-pro is on par with a 9700 PRO, and that's pretty damn good for $200

All of you guys, definitely add more input if you guys want, but i guess you guys are definitely not liking the AIW 9600

So, are u saying that a 9800 N/P can be overclocked to a 9800 PRO? It's currently $150 cheaper for a 9800 N/P...quite a difference. What are the benefits to getting a PRO vs NON-PRO? Thanks!

The R9600AIW is a multimedia focused card. Unless you NEED a TV/FM tuner and video editing suite in your computer, then it's a serious waste of money, and doesn't perform anywhere near the R9800.

The R9800non-pro is a GREAT card, and will do you very well. The R9800 also has some MINOR tweaks (F-buffer) above the R9700 series so go with the R9800 if they are the same price.

The R9600PR/XT are nice but no match for the R9800. And yes stay away from any SE, if you're luck it would be a 256bit version, but even then it would still be a terrible dissapointment when compared to the R9800non-pro.

The R9800non-pro is your best deal for great performance at a reasonable price.

non-pro can usually be overclocked to PRO levels, PRo can usually be overclocked beyond that. It's all relative.

That's amazing...9800 NP O/Ced to a PRO. Hmmm...so, has anyone done this? Any performance/heat issues? SH*T, for $150, I'm considering this ($150 savings). I have a TI4200 128MB card now...it's nice, but when playing BF1942 ONLINE, it bogs down when lots of gun fire/missiles/helicopters are going nuts. I hate that. Plus, I want a newer card....I love gaming. So, to O/C a N/P, I'd get an O/C-ing prog. (prob. comes w/card??). thanks !!!

Thanks you guys, so i guess that I should probably go for the regular R9800. How do you overclock the Radeon. I have even been told you can overclock the Pentium 2.8 HT, but I cant figure that out either

you can get oc prog at rage3d.com and oc it well. The heat issue is not that big of a problem as long as you know what you are doing and understand how to properly cool the card. 9800 is a great card that like grape said has alot of potential is is just clock lower than the pro. Alot of ppl have oc theirs to pro clock speeds with no problems.

good luck if you get one and feel free to ask more questions if needed.
