Question Which Laptop is Better to Get? Other Suggestions?

Hello, I am trying to buy a new gaming (1080p high/ultra settings)/data analysis (32gbs ram/1TB SSD) laptop as I will be out of town for 2.5 months soon but also starting work on a political science dissertation. For a laptop I most certainly do not need 4k gaming but maybe 1440p. My budget for a new laptop is around $1400 dollars. I am currently debating between these two laptops, but I will gladly take any other suggestions. The Acer has a stronger CPU with the i9 but the Lenovo having a 4070. I did notice the 4070 in the Lenovo is only 8gb vram though, so how different is it from the 4060 with the i9 in the Acer laptop?

I'd get the AMD equipped Lenovo laptop to avoid the 13th Gen Intel laptop. The Lenovo also has a better discrete GPU while being bundled in a lower price point.
