Hello

Looking to switch from windows to a mac, I do a lot of editing work with 4k 4:4:2 10bit footage Sony footage (.mp4). I work a lot in Davici Resolve and After Effects.

Currently looking at a few refurbished ones, specifically the:

1. MacBook Pro 16.2-inch (2021) - Apple M1 Max 10-core and 32-core GPU - 32GB RAM - SSD 1000GB
And
2. MacBook Pro 16.2-inch (2023) - Apple M2 Pro 12-core and 19-core GPU - 16GB RAM - SSD 1000GB

Unsure if i should prioritise the m2 pro chip or the 32gb on the m1 max chip for the work I do.

Any suggestions for different models are welcome, aswell as any questions :)!

Thank you

Don't forget to look at more than just the memory. The M2 MacBook Pro lineup comes with other features the M1 does not have, such as WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, HDMI 2.1, and longer battery life. They both have identical displays, so if those previous features do not matter to you, it may be worth getting the M1 Max with more memory and GPU performance. The M2's extra CPU cores are simply two additional efficiency cores, and are unlikely to make as much as an impact as the GPU. It might also be worth considering the 14 inch model, as you can put some of that savings into more performance or storage.
