The only "contempt" I have for Windows 8 is that I have absolutely no need of it.

Windows ME is the worse Windows I have ever tried, and I tried Windows 98 that was really crappy ( BSOD while installing it !!!), though Windos 98 Second Edition was pretty good.

Windows 95 was a huge improvement over windows 3.11
Windows 98 failed miserably until Second Edition was released
XP at first wasn't that good compared to Windows 2000, but after SP1 it was great.
Vista..ufff.... it was too good for it's time, in it's time no one had the hardware needed to move it smothly
Win7 had it since beta and still installed
Win8 don't ever try that thing, is intended for tablets. Yes it can run on any PC but without tactil input is just crappy
