[SOLVED] Which modem router combo with 1000Gbps is best for xfinity?

Hi all,

Here are what I found on Amazon. Please advise which brand is best. Feel free to recommend a model, not on my list. Thank you.

you may want to consider the the Netgear CM1000 https://smile.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Cable-Modem-CM1000-Compatible/dp/B0781VN7W5/ or SB8200 and an AX router of your choice -also believe you mean 1000Mbps otherwise you're dealing with optical speeds

Netgear modems seem to have more problems than Arris ones. I wouldn't get anything less than an arris as they have set the standard.

A straight modem and a separate router is what you want and what you need. Anything “dependent” on a consistent connection needs to be set up that way. This means.. if it’s on wireless, then avoid the 5 ghz frequency unless you’re sure the antennas can “physically” see each other. Your bandwidth plan should reflect on the gear you need, and managing that bandwidth should help you decide how you distribute that bandwidth.. if all the devices can obtain all your bandwidth from the range of where it’s getting its data from... is not ideal or good. The average person needs about 10 to 11 mbps to have “luxury” internet. Yes. 1 gbps can be cheap.... but a lot of people don’t need it by themselves. A family of 7 people can survive on 50 mbps. And by law a ISP only has to offer around 1-2 mbps to the house.. anything below that is most the consumers fault and not the ISP.
