Hi,

So my PC is almost complete (i5-6402p + rx 460 2gb) and I need to get a monitor for it. I would like to get one with freesync, up to 75hz (as I can't afford a 144) and size either 22 or 24 - will be used for gaming.

I found the following options:

AOC G2260VWQ6 22" @ 99 pounds
SAMSUNG C22F390 @ 107 pounds
SAMSUNG C24F396 @ 122 pounds

The AOC uses a TN panel with 1ms response time and 75hz while the samsungs use a VA panel with 4ms response time and 60hz. Also, is there a noticeable difference between 22" and 24"? is is worth the price difference of 15 pounds between the samsung monitors? Does someone know samsung monitor codes? is 396 better than 390 series? Thank you

There is almost no difference between 1ms and 5ms. Obviously lower is better, but almost nobody could tell the difference. Especially at lower refresh rates like 60hz.

If you're wanting to play at 1080p for average gaming, then I'd suggest a 24" monitor at 60hz with a VA or IPS panel. If you enjoy primarily FPS games and take it very seriously, then go for a 24" 144hz TN monitor.

I eventually ordered the C24F396 - as it had a good discount to it. Still haven't find out what is the difference between say Samsung C24F390 and C24F396 - except for the stand?
