Which Monitor?

I'm looking for a new monitor to purchase to run with a 7770, 660 or 7850 (probably in September) but I need a good monitor.

How do these look for gaming?

Finally, does anybody have any suggestions on 23-24 inch monitors from $130-200?

I would recommend you pick up the U2312HM. It is far superior to the other one you linked. It also is probably one of the best panels in its price range.

The Asus VH236H is another good choice for a cheap 23-inch monitor. On the monitors mentioned above, similar sales will be available later on if you keep an eye on them, but some more searching would be a also be a reasonable option.

I will mainly be gaming. My current monitor is a Dell 1907FP which has been excellent so far, however it is small and cannot display games at 1080P.

I would recommend the VS229H-P before the VH236H. The VS229H-P is an IPS panel and will have better colors. However, for gaming I would recommend the U2312HM because it has the best input lag of any monitor I've seen.

Does that come any larger? Like 23-24 inches.

The Dell or the ASUS? The ASUS I would recommend the 22" over the 23" version because the 23" version is only $15 less than the Dell U2312HM. If you can stretch just a little bit, then the Dell should be on your short list for sure. The ASUS panel is IPS on a budget.

If you were talking about the Dell then there is a U2412H but that is well above the budget as it can usually only be found for a little under $300.

I was hoping to spend from $130-$200 tops, preferably at the $160-170 range, ad @3-24 inches is definitely something I want, however maybe I could settle for a 22 inch.

Do I need an IPS monitor? I mainly use my computer for Gaming, Typing, Social networking and YouTube.

Basically the more I spend on a monitor, the less I can spend on a GPU. I only want to exceed my price point if I can get a noticeably better monitor. If not, something equal or better to my current monitor in a larger size is perfect.

Ok fair enough. For the ASUS panels, its going to be about $160 vs $190 for the 22" vs the 23". I would go with the 22" save about $30 and get a 7950.

Keep in mind when you read that review that the monitor linked at newegg is the VS229H-P. The review is on the VS229H. The difference in the -P model has an option to overdrive the pixels.

The reason I like IPS panels vs TN panels is, why spend so much money on a GPU and not get a monitor that wont take advantage of that. IPS panels are a little more expensive than TN panels but they are worth it (especially at a $160 price point). The responsiveness of an overdriven IPS panel with a low input lag and decent pixel responsiveness are small enough where it wont be noticeable.
