dont know anything about either. which performs better? XFX Radeon R9 280 3GB Double Dissipation Video Card or PowerColor Radeon R9 280X 3GB TurboDuo Video Card

Solution
Actually, the XFX unit is likely to be capable of being overclocked beyond the performance of the stock Powercolor card, for less, and is a higher quality card in general. Powercolor is a second tier manufacturer and while both XFX and Powercolor are Taiwanese manufacturers, I've had much more trouble dealing with Powercolor support than I ever have with XFX, in the event support is needed.

Idealy, I'd go with a Sapphire R9 280x card and they're currently fairly cheap.

Video Card: Sapphire Radeon R9 280X 3GB Video Card ($209.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $209.99
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

does it match the powercolors performance? also a buddy of mine just told me that powercolor card tends to get really hot.

Sapphire Radeon R9 280X it is i guess. thanks

had powercolor hd5870. less than 6 months after purchase the fan dies. emails were sent and i was told to contact some random site who then ignored every request for a rma.
i eneded up having to replace the cooler at the cost of £50 (turns out its the best things i could have done for the card as it ran silent and cool)
but my point is stay clear of powercolour unless you have no other options in your price bracket.

Yes, it's too much, for a single card. And not enough for Crossfire in the event you add a second card down the road. I'd either go with a larger unit, which will satisfy the demands for crossfire but makes no sense since your CPU selection will certainly not be enough for a 280x crossfire configuration, or go with this, which is plenty and is a very good Seasonic built Antec unit.
