Hello all!
I've got a Latitude 5490 with an i5-8350U. It came refurbished, with a single-channel stick of 16 GB 2400 Mhz DDR4. I had some unused 8 gig sticks laying around, so decided why not throw one in for a free upgrade? But, i've got a question.
The RAM it came with was dual-rank (2Rx8). I only have spare 2400 Mhz DDR4 at single-rank (1Rx8). I do however, have spare dual-rank at 2133 Mhz.
Should I put the mismatched-rank 2400 Mhz stick in, or the slower matched-rank 2133? Which would be faster for using the iGPU?
(P.S: I do know that a matched kit, or another stick of the same model is more ideal. But I don't want to buy a kit with the same capacity as what's in the laptop, and don't need to upgrade to 32. Might as well use what I have spare.)
