Hi Guys,

I'm just wondering if these 3 Ram kits are compatible with my mobo/cpu

http://www.gskill.com/en/product/f3-12800cl10d-16gbxl

http://www.gskill.com/en/product/f3-2133c9d-16gxh

http://www.gskill.com/en/product/f3-2400c10d-16gtx

My motherboard is a http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z87G45_GAMING.html#overview

My CPU is a http://ark.intel.com/products/75047/intel-core-i5-4670-processor-6m-cache-up-to-3_80-ghz

The first and third kits don't have my mobo listed under QVL, does that make a difference?

Also if they are all compatible which is the best one to get disregarding price?

I assume the trident is best followed by the 2133mhz ripjaws but just checking.

Thanks,
Piers

Mobo doesn't matter all that much, most all Z87s can handle most any DRAM, it's the CPU that matters, with yours might be able to run the 2133 Sticks, 1600 are fine, and 2400 is very iffy, if you had the K model then would be fine with any of the DRAM sets...and I'd suggest against the 1600/10 set, 1600/9 is pretty much entry level, with a non-K haswell I normally suggest 1866/9 as starter, see here:

When I bought the CPU I had no intention of overclocking so I didn't think it mattered if i got the normal version as opposed to K. I didn't realise it could have an effect on my other parts 🙁

The reason I linked the 1600/10 set is that I already own that ram. Is it worth upgrading or should I just stick with that?

Maybe something like this is what I should be looking at?

The 1866 is a better set, but unless you are into apps that are memory intensive, doubt it will show a real noticeable gain performance wise, might think of putting the money into maybe an SSD if you don't have one, which would prob make you happier performance wise

I do have an SSD. I'm actually just short of a psu and ram in terms of making a secondary computer so I was thinking i might just upgrade my ram to the one i linked and then use the old ram and a vs650 psu in my secondary build.

Since I'll probably want to buy a ram kit for the second build i figure i might as well buy an upgrade for my pc instead.

Thanks for your help btw ^_^
