Hi! I'm looking at these two motherboards for a gaming build. Which is better?

  • ASRock X570S PG Riptide
  • MSI B550 Gaming Plus
They're both the same price but I'm mainly concerned with the PCIe slots and the USB ports and what not. Also, is MSI more reliable than AsRock as a brand or not?
Any input will be appreciated, thank you!

Please elaborate on the what not part. What are you looking for out of your motherboard purchase? What are you going to pair with said motherboard?

I noticed you have sig space specs, if you're going to carry anything over from that build, we advise users to mention their specs in the body of the thread. Reason being, sig space specs can and will change over time and when that happens, this thread can and will be rendered moot to the end user in the same boat as you're in now. So, if you will, please mention your specs that you intend to build around the motherboard mentioned above or the parts you're looking to recycle/carryover/migrate.

FYI, if you're going with a Ryzen 5000 series processor, you should forgo the X570 chipset and jump onboard the B550 chipset motherboards.

Lastly, where are you located, what sort of a budget have you set aside for your motherboard purchase and what is your preferred site for purchase?

What else are you going for, which CPU primarily ? For up to 12 cores either will have same "gaming" performance" Both will have PCIe v5.0 with 3000 to 5000 Ryzen series except G models. Only difference is in other equipment connected to chipset.

I apologize, I'm currently running a 5600 with 32GB ram. All of the other parts on my sig is the same but I will update it. Thanks!

I'm curious as to why should I forego the x570 over the B550?? I thought the x570 would be better?

I live in the Philippines. My budget is around 100USD and I mainly buy in Shopee.

Which of the 2 is more feature-packed? They're at the same price.
