Question which one is better ?

So i am a CS sophomore student living in germany .

I am trying to buy a new laptop that is both small ( light ) and will last for a while .
these are the specs that must be there :

14inch
256 GB SSD
8 GB RAM
I am confused in terms of CPU if the cores or speed matter more for programming
Any Graphics card
and a discrete style , not that colorful at least .

I searched and i found these 2 .

I am not sure if a 1.6 Ghz is enough but it has 4 cores so I am confused of how good it actually is .

this one is the complete opposite it has good speed but only 1 core .


I just want to know which one is better

And if you better suggestions for the same price range ( you can go a bit higher ) .

I know i can study / program with worse pcs by the way but still .

they have the same CPU. exactly the same quad core 8 threaded CPU.
that 1.6ghz is when all cores are purring along, but when the right workload arises some cores shutdown and one core goes to 3.9ghz.
they are the same spec. the HP appears to have more ports.

They are both cool but the HP one has 500 gb ssd so 250 more than the other one and they're the same price and since CPUs are kind of the same i guess HP one i better after all
