[SOLVED] Which one should i upgrade first

Hi All ,

Its been long time i havent upgraded my pc.
Rite now , I have the following setup,
1.FX-8320
2.R9 280x
3.Monitor - 1080p

I plan to upgrade the system , so that i could use it for another 5 yrs or so , i will be only gaming in 1080p.

I can upgrade only in step by step manner , like either the CPU , mobo , RAM or GPU first

So which one should I be upgrading ?
i have these in mind at the moment
1.CPU - ryzen 5 3600 / 3500 - any other better alternatives for future proofing
2.GPU - RTX 2060 (380$) , RX 5700 (460$). - any other better alternatives for future proofing (pls dont recommend 2080Ti , i dont have that much money)

in any case, you will need a new am4 mobo, ddr4 memory for a ryzen 5 cpu and preferably a new psu

start with that, if you cant afford a rtx 2060, get a 1660, it should be much faster than a 280x

Well, let's start by providing a budget first. It'll make it easier for us to help.

Like @woot mentioned, if you upgrade the CPU, you will have to upgrade the RAM and Motherboard as well. So it's either you upgrade the GPU or upgrade the CPU/RAM/Mobo. For now, I would also strongly recommend upgrading to a GTX 1660 Super or Ti. And if possible a 2060/Super since your CPU is still capable of handling that GPU without too much of a bottle neck.
