which os to use?

ok im building a high end gaming pc and I am wandering what os I should use(between windows 7 and 8, I know I want 64 bit), I know quite alot about software and hardware but not much about os's thanks in advance guys

I would go with windows 8. Unless you have programs that you need to use that have known compatibility issues then there is no reason not to go with the latest OS. Also so far direct X 11.2 is a windows 8.1 exclusive which may matter in 2-3 years from now.
