Thinking about making my dad a gaming pc for Christmas since his old pc is causing him issues for awhile now and that his pc is way overdue for an upgrade.I would say 10yeas+ My max is $1,000. He usually plays games like WoW, Diablo3, and civilization. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Take your pick between AMD RX 5700 XT and Nvidia RTX 2060 Super. Honestly though, those are a bit high-end for those games you mentioned. You could drop down to a GTX 1660, 1660 Super, or 1660 Ti and maybe get some peripherals or something else.

PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor ($185.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard ($114.99 @ B&H)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory ($59.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung 860 Evo 1 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($109.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: MSI GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER 8 GB GAMING X Video Card ($409.99 @ B&H)
