I am about to buy a new PSU for my gtx 1070 ftw/6700k setup and I need a new PSU. I thought about getting the Cooler Master V 550 or the Corsair RMx 550. How do these PSUs fair against the EVGA G2?
From the reviews I have seen I would say the RM550x is the best performer out of the three followed by the G2. You cant go wrong with any of those to be honest all three are very good psu's, for me it would be a toss up between the G2 and the RM550x.
I just saw a review from jonnyguru (If I am not mistaken) stating the RMx seems to suffer from medicore/bad soldering. Something that makes me kinda hesitant

Does jhonnyguru even have a review of the RM550x? I don't believe he does. Toms hardware did a review of it and they said the soldering was good.
Sorry I am stupid. jhonnyguru has a review for the 750W. Didnt know there would be a difference between something like this. Anyways, thanks, I ordered a RMx 550 now.

No problem. Yeah it can differ from psu to psu even of the same wattage, make, and model. I think a lot of that soldering is still done by human hands, so quality can vary based on who happened to do the soldering, whether they are having a good day, how many psu's they have already soldered in a day, etc. I don't think its always going to be consistent, usually if it passes the quality control of a major company like CWT (the people who make the 550x) and corsair even if it looks sloppy it should function just the same.
