Bought myself a ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero. The RAM I have, G.Skill F4-3600C14D-32GTZR shows up on the G.Skill site as being compatible with the board and the processor, a 3950. On the Asus site it is not listed. Back when I purchased this RAM it was listed on the Asus QVL as compatible with the Dark Hero board as well as the board I had, a Tuf Gaming 570.
I am having a nightmare getting Windows 10 installed. All goes well until I get to the point of entering my MS account info, machine reboots.

Solution
The motherboard qvl list is for ram that they have tested.
It may not get updated.
If the ram shows on the g.skil site, you should be ok.
At the very least, G.skil support will help you out if it is their problem.

Run memtest86 or memtest86+
They boot from a usb stick and do not use windows.
You can download them here:
If you can run a full pass with NO errors, your ram should be ok.

Running several more passes will sometimes uncover an issue, but it takes more time.
Probably not worth it unless you really suspect a ram issue.
