Quick question: if I use an AMD A10-6800k APU, I know that by itself it needs 2133MHz RAM to keep up on graphics processing. But if I throw in, say, an ATI 7750, does it need RAM of that speed? Would even the APU graphics pull off the 7750? If not, I suppose the faster RAM is the way to go. Now if it does, is the faster RAM worth it for the rest of the system functions?

Solution
No they dont
Apus graphics processor only uses ram
The gpu is discrete it will have no effect from ram the 7750 runs seperately

Srry i got a lil cnfused
Gt ur point now
Hope its cleared
I am considering an FX CPU, but I am doing a mATX build. I don't like the FX mATX mobos.Assume I must use an APU, how will RAM speed, the APU, and an added GPU/lack thereof interact with each other?

I have seen several people say the A10-6800k APU can be used with the 7750. The 8000 series on the APU is basically a rebranded 6000 series. In fact the officially supported GPUs are still only 6000 series, not 7000. But several people I have seen got a 7750 to work. But was wondering if anyone knew of the RAM speed needed to be higher even with the 7750. I don't know of the APU pulls ram off of a discrete GPU once added.

OK. So just to be clear: the APUs graphics will use the MoBo RAM, and the GPU will use it's own. So I will want faster RAM on the MoBo either way. And as long as the GPU is compatible, it should run better with Dual Graphics then just the APU or the GPU alone.
