Which SCSI controller?

I want to get myself a SCSI CD-ROM.

I quite like the look of the
PLEXTOR PX-40TSi (40x, Ultra SCSI, tray, internal).

Unfortunately, I know very little of SCSI controllers.
Can anyone please tell me which controllers I can use.
I don't want to spend ludicrous amounts of money.

Cheers up front.

Adaptec makes some of the best SCSI adapters out there. The question for you is whether you ever plan on buyiong SCSI hard drives also. If you do plan on that you need to buy the Ultra 160 version (I think that is what it is called now). If not you can get any of the older scsi models out there. The SCSI CDROM will not be hampered performance wise by a slower, older SCSI model.

What did we do before we had computers?

Tekram makes a fairly good one and it costs much less than Adaptec. And it has a 5 year warrentee

If it works for you then don't fix it.
