I've just built a pc and was intending on fitting a soundcard I already have, a Creative XFI extreme audio. I've liked this card and it's suited my uses well. I don't have a surround setup on speakers, just a 2.1 setup and occasionally I use headphones. The motherboard I have has 7.1 CH HD Audio with Content Protection (Realtek ALC892 Audio Codec) onboard. I've had it suggested to me that it may be better than the card I was using but I have no idea.
So question is, if you had the xfi card or this onboard audio choice, what would be the better solution?
